Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner announced on Thursday that after inquiring to U.S. Postal Service officials regarding the lack of delivery recently, he received an email from Patricia Irons, the Manager for Public Policy Planning and Analysis for U.S.P.S., who said the matter has been forwarded to the Inspector General.
According to Feiner, in recent weeks, he has received daily emails about the postal service, be it lack of delivery, people not receiving medical prescriptions checks or bills, mail being sent to the wrong address and some Hartsdale residents who simply have not received mail in days.
Similar issues have been reported in New Rochelle.
Feiner said he has been forwarding all complaints to the United States Postmaster General and to high ranking officials at the Postal Service – in addition to our entire congressional delegation. I have also forwarded complaints to the leadership of the American Postal Workers Union.
“I hope our strategy works and that service starts to improve,” Feiner wrote in an email. “Some residents of the town have been experiencing no problems. They are pleased with their permanent postal service carrier. However, when the assigned carrier is on vacation or sick many people seem to have problems. There is no excuse for lack of mail delivery, many letters being delivered to the wrong addresses. Our goal: we want everyone to be able to count on reliable service.”
